The public squares and digital arenas now reverberate with a singular, echoing discord; the tribal roar drowns out all measured dialogue. A single figure, a lone tax issue, becomes the battleground where allegiances are forged or shattered, rendering any form of temperate consideration utterly extinct. The binary of our political moment, you see, dictates a picking of sides with no space left for the quiet, dispassionate appraisal of facts. It's a curious devolution where professional failure, a genuine inability to fulfill a brief—to build homes, to heal a struggling health-service, or to manage migratory flows, often pales next to a private misstep. Our collective political heart has supplanted our head, and emotion now sits as the primary arbiter of public consequence.

This is not a song about Angela Rayner.

There is a long, long line to politicians before her who should have done better.

Perhaps, we get the rulers we deserve.

When we were teenagers, we were going to be Rockstars.

Its only taken 30 odd years, but in April this year we got the chance to fulfil that dream, when we got the chance to record a couple of tracks for a proper, independent Recording Company.

"Billionaires & Presidents" by The Sextion (a sub-division of PlasticSole) - A Rapid-Fire Commentary on Power

"Billionaires & Presidents" is a cynical and critical commentary on the close, often corrupt, relationship between powerful political figures (Presidents) and wealthy individuals (Billionaires and Oligarchs). The track implies a system where these elites mutually benefit at the expense of ordinary people.

On Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th April 2025 PlasticSole entered the Studio, at Ameritz Music, to record two tracks.

This one is really special to me.

Back in 2011, when my wife was diagnosed with leukaemia, I turned to music as a coping mechanism. I immersed myself in Paul McCartney’s solo back catalog because it’s filled with positive vibes. So, when it came time to choose cover songs for this gig, I asked my band mates to learn some Macca songs, and they obliged. I’m thrilled that we uncovered these recordings, allowing us to release them. This EP is an incredible record of the end of some very dark times.

Following on from our successful performance at HMV Milton Keynes, we played another stripped back in-Store Performance at HMV Winchester. We hoped you enjoyed the intimate, mellowish vibe as we shared renditions and connect with you face-to-face.

The PlasticWolf Project II: A Year Later

A year has passed since PlasticSole and Broken Wolf first joined forces at Robannas Studios in Birmingham. On Sunday, 20th October 2024, the two bands returned to the legendary studio to record not one, but two iconic tracks.

Recorded at the gone, but not forgotten, Bar Central in Milton Keynes, at the end of the 90s, we've gone deep in to the archives to find the highlights of our one and only acoustic show (so far). This was a special gig, with a couple of violinists joining us on stage for a few numbers, a track never played before (or since) called Follow Me Down, and reworkings of a few of our set list staples.

We hope this will transport you back to when we were young and bring a flood of happy memories.
